3-14 Convert to End Boom Sheeting

I was experiencing problems with the main sheet dipping in the water behind the boat when jibing. I had the original end boom sheeting system that made a triangle out of the mainsheet. At Dan Reiber’s advice, I upgraded the End Boom Sheeting according to the manual. I did not have a Boom bail so I made one out of some stainless steel HVAC staps. I bent and nested them together. The bail at this angle needs to be longer than the standard anyway. I did not have a bullet block with becket so I added a D shackle aft of the existing block. It worked well. I used 1/4″ line to make the bridle. I attached it to the original main sheet blocks on the gunwale to allow me to use the horn cleats to tie off the boat. I like the new system. I also allowed me to use the original main sheet.
