Sonrise

Psalm 37:4
Delight thyself in the Lord and He will give thee the desires of thine heart.

I had a life long dream to have a sailboat. Until I stepped into this one, I had never even been in a sailboat. I have had a small fishing boat since 1965.
In December of 2005, I found the Javelin leaning against an old rotting shed on one of my job sites. It was filthy and the bow was covered with poison ivy. Inside the shed, I found the boom support paddle, the boom, the spinnaker pole, and (2) sets of mainsails, jibs, spinnakers, rudders and tillers. The boom was there still in its package.
The sails appeared to be factory folded. Other than a few stains from sitting in the rotting shed, they were in “as new” condition. There was no mast, but I found one on Ebay. In the process of registering the boat, I found the original owner. She gave me the boat. She also told me that the boat had never been in the water.
It was Easter time when I found the mast. It was then realized that I really had a sailboat. I decided to honor the Lord Jesus Christ in His ressurection by naming the boat “Sonrise”.
